Superfinish Technology

Specialized isotropic superfinishing for crankshafts, gears, gearbox components, transmission parts and precision CNC components.

This controlled process is focused on achieving low Ra values, reducing friction and creating reproducible surface quality for components subject to high mechanical loads. It is suitable for applications where a REM-style surface finish or low-friction isotropic finish is required.

Highly suitable for gearbox superfinishing, small technical batches, motorsport applications and high-end technical components where performance, reliability and finish are essential.

Vibratory Tumbling

Specialized vibratory tumbling for a uniform and refined surface finish on metal components.

The process is highly suitable for small technical batches, CNC components, brackets, bushings, shafts, aluminum parts, and technical components where appearance and a consistent finish are essential.

Depending on the material, geometry, and desired finish, vibratory tumbling ensures a smoother surface, rounded sharp edges, and a premium technical appearance.

Wet Blasting

Specialized wet blasting for cleaning and refining primarily aluminum components.

The process utilizes water and abrasive media to remove contaminants, oxidation, and old deposits, resulting in a clean and uniform satin finish.

At VDB Engineering, wet blasting can be utilized as a pre- or post-processing step in the superfinishing process. It is also available as a standalone treatment for the restoration and cosmetic enhancement of parts such as engine casings, castings, covers, housings, and other aluminum components.

Workshop

VDB Engineering has its own workshop for specialized processing, cleaning, and surface treatment.

Machines and equipment:
– Rösler machines for superfinishing and polishing operations
– Lathe and milling machine for any light pre and postprocessing
– Wet blasting cabinet for a high-quality surface finish
– Ultrasonic cleaning machine for thorough cleaning
– Teknox high-pressure cleaning cabinet for industrial cleaning

Quality comes first. All work is exclusively checked and measured using high-quality measuring equipment from Mitutoyo and Mahr.
